SECTION 3: PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
ACON Asphalt Sealer is a high-quality, proprietary formula aqueous acrylate dispersion, that when applied and fully dried / cured, develops into a strong, durable, flexible, and breathable coating which adheres tenaciously to asphalt and a variety of other surfaces. ACON Asphalt Sealer is a penetrating coating that is non-flammable, odorless, and non-toxic.
SECTION 4: BASIC USE
ACON Asphalt Sealer is an asphalt maintenance solution that is designed to extend the useful life span of asphalt. ACON Asphalt Sealer will densify and waterproof asphalt, and it also has the flexibility and elongation needed to prevent cracking indefinitely.
SECTION 5: INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS
ACON Asphalt Sealer application may be made using almost any convenient method, i.e., paint roller, brush sprayer, flood-on and spread with a roller or squeegee, and etc. When sand is added it is recommended to use a broom or squeegee.
For pothole repair, Surface to be repaired should be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and dried prior to application. Potholes, or recessions should be cleaned with crumbly or broken pavement pieces removed. then while pothole is still clean and dry, pack it firmly with asphalt to within approximately 35-50 mils from the surface top with a well-mixed mixture of sand and ACON Asphalt Sealer placed on top of asphalt fill flush with the original surface top. This freshly placed ACON Asphalt Sealer with sand should then be allowed to dry before opening for use.
FOR CONSOLDIAITON OF SURFACE, pour ACON Asphalt Sealer onto surface being consolidated then spread ACON Apshalt Sealer evenly over surface using a broom or squeegee and then allow ACON Asphalt Sealer to dry.
Drying time may vary depending on ambient drying conditions. Normally reworked surface can be opened to foot traffic in 30-60 minutes, or possibly less, depending on ambient drying factors at the time of application. At least 4-hours is recommended before opening surface to vehicular traffic, provided surface is not tacky, If striping was done also allow striping paint to dry before opening to traffic.
SECTION 6: PRECAUTIONS
Incidental contact with ACON Asphalt Sealer is not hazardous, protective clothing is not necessary. Avoid contact with eyes, if eye contact is made rinse thoroughly with water, and should irritation develop get medical attention. If ingested drink water, induce vomiting, seek medical attention. Do not apply ACON Asphalt Sealer when ambient temperature drops below 55°F or above 100°F.
