SECTION 3: PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
LUSTER MAX is a high-quality, proprietary formula aqueous acrylate dispersion, that when applied and fully dried / cured, develops into a
strong, durable, flexible, and breathable coating which adheres tenaciously to clean bare surfaces, i.e.. concrete, drywall, powerwall, masonry, metal, wood, etc. LUSTER MAX is non-flammable, odorless,
non-toxic, penetrating, and clear-drying (unless pigmented)
SECTION 4: BASIC USE
LUSTER MAX is excellent for a paver coating / joint sand consolidating material. LUSTER MAX may be power-troweled impregnated into
concrete to restore surface integrity to weak, crumbling, crazed, cracked, or otherwise flawed surfaces. LUSTER MAX may be used on various types of surfaces including metal, wood, and etc.
A specially formulated form of LUSTER MAX is available which may be used as an effective heavy-duty TOPPING for concrete, prepared by
mixing with fine sand and or silica flour with portland cement. (recipe furnished upon request).
SECTION 5: INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS
LUSTER MAX's application may be made using almost any convenient method, i.e., paint roller, brush, sprayer, flood-on and spread with
a roller or squeegee, and etc. LUSTER MAX, applied as a film, is recommended applied as thinly as is practical for optimal strength development, applied with subsequent applications if more film thickness is
desired.
As a paver sand consolidator, LUSTER MAX is recommended applied on top of the paver and sand surface at the rate of approximately 150
square feet per gallon, using a (pump-type) low-pressure non-atomizing sprayer apparatus, then use a small headed squeegee to push excess LUSTER MAX off of the paver tops into the sand joints. NOTE: Do not allow
LUSTER MAX to air-dry on paver tops before squeegeeing off excess LUSTER MAX. For consolidation of concrete surfaces, pour LUSTER MAX onto surface being consolidated then spread LUSTER MAX evenly over surface
using a broom or squeegee. For surface impregnation trowel LUSTER MAX into the surface porosity filling cracks, and recesses, using a power finishing trowel. For repairing cracks, fill cracks with a dry sand and
cement mixture. Then, using a pointed squeeze bottle, cover with a bead of LUSTER MAX. Allow to completely set (at least 24 hours) before in a coating over the surface.LUSTER MAX should not be applicated when
temperature falls below 55*F, due to extremely slow drying. Dryness can be ascertained by testing LUSTER MAX's tackiness, since dried LUSTER MAX is not tacky. A minimum of 24 hours drying / curing time,
following application, should be allowed for strength development before allowing heavy-duty service / traffic.
SECTION 6: PRECAUTIONS
- Incidental contact with LUSTER MAX is not hazardous, protective clothing is not necessary.
- Avoid contact with eyes, if eye contact is made rinse thoroughly with water, and should irritation develop get medical attention.
- If ingested drink water, induce vomiting, seek medical attention.
- Protect areas not intended for coverage.
- Do not apply LUSTER MAX when ambient temperature drops below 55F or above 100F.
